ALAN Turnbull, 41, of Broom Drive, Galashiels, has been charged with being almost double the legal alcohol limit while driving.
The offence is alleged to have happened in Tweedbank Drive, Tweedbank, on November 18.
The case was continued without plea until January 14 to allow him to get legal representation.
