A HAWICK man who made an offensive telephone call to his former partner was sentenced to a two-year community payback order.
Remo Nardini, 54, of Ramsay Road, admitted phoning his ex-partner and speaking to her in an abusive manner at Longcroft Crescent. Hawick, on September 30.
Depute procurator fiscal Kate McGarvey said the accused was subject to a three-year interdict prohibiting him from contacting his former partner.
“He telephoned her mobile, which she turned on to speaker, and he was abusive towards her. She was very upset and afraid, and the police were contacted,” added Ms McGarvey.
Nardini told police: “I’m guilty.”
