The monthly meeting of the group was held in the Macmillan Centre at the BGH last Wednesday.
Guest speaker was Adele MacPhail, community nurse specialist for Scotland. She gave an interesting talk on dealing with incontinence after treatment for prostate cancer, and also about her role as a community nurse.
She gave some invaluable advice on what treatments were available, both privately and on the NHS, and invited the group to tell her about their own experiences of prostate cancer and its effects on their lives.
Members then adjourned for tea/coffee, biscuits and chit-chat.
The next meeting will be held in the Macmillan Centre at the BGH on September 3 at 7pm when all men affected with this illness will be made most welcome, along with their partners.
