Police are probing a break-in and theft at a house in Abbotsferry Road in Galashiels.
The raid was discovered when the occupants returned from a night away at 3.30pm on Sunday. Police say it happened sometime after 2pm the previous day.
The haul consisted of several watches and two laptops and police have appealed for assistance.
Inspector Mike Wynne said: “We are eager to speak with anyone who was in Abbotsferry Road or the nearby park at the weekend and remembers seeing anything suspicious.”
Police are also investigating a break-in at a flat in Hawick’s Gladstone Street which happened between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Wednesday, March 5.
Electrical goods including a television set and games console with a total value of around £640 were stolen.
Chief Inspector Andy Clark said ; “The victim has been left deeply upset at the theft of his belongings and we are eager to speak with anyone who was in Gladstone Street on Wednesday evening and who saw anything suspicious, to come forward.
