Heriot sheepdog trial, which was first run in 1952, attracted an impressive entry of 62 competitors when it was staged this year.
Morning runs took place in cloudy conditions but by lunchtime competitors and spectators were basking in hot sunshine.
Archie Aitcheson swept the board with his dog Call winning first rpize in the Open and the Local with a run of 97 points as well as the special prize for Outrun, Lift & Fetch.
Julie Hill, who organized the trial, was a close second in the Open and the Local with a run of 96 points with Mack.
Third place in the Open went to Steve Maclay with 92 points. He also picked up top spot in the Novice with Jim.
In addition to a cash prize Aitcheson won a crafted model of a sheepdog and her pups presented by Border Fine Arts, a glass tankard donated by Traquair Brewery as well as a large bag of Sneyd’s new Wonderdog food. Sneyd generously donated 10 large bags of dog food that went to the first eight competitors in the Open and the first two competitors in the Novice.
