A drunken wedding guest who threw a glass which just missed a baby has been jailed for 80 days.
Apprentice plumber Christopher Law was put out of the Barony Castle Hotel near Peebles by other guests after arguing with a relative at his mother’s wedding reception on Saturday night.
Hotel staff had to hold doors closed as Law tried to force his way back inside.
Law, of Grove Street, Edinburgh, appeared from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court and admitted abusive behaviour.
Prosecutor Tessa Bradley told the court: “He became aggressive towards police and started calling them names.
“He ran into a wood which caused concern because of the coldness and what he was wearing [a t-shirt]. He appeared again soon after on the driveway and hotel staff handed out blankets to keep him warm.”
Law’s solicitor said there was long-standing animosity between him and his mother’s partner and tensions had mounted at the wedding.
Sheriff Kevin Drummond described Law’s record as appalling and said he was currently excluded from licensed premises.
