A NEW bus service between Hawick and Borders General Hospital is being trialled from Monday.
Scottish Borders Council, in partnership with the Reshaping Care Change Fund and The Bridge Community Transport Initiative, is behind the scheme.
It will operate four times a day Monday to Friday on a set route linking Wellogate, Mart Street and Burnfoot, with the Community Hospital and the BGH. The bus will also serve the Loan area of Selkirk on all journeys.
An SBC spokesman said: “The service is being trialled following extensive consultation with residents who identified that the lack of a direct bus service to the BGH is a significant barrier in meeting appointment and visiting times.”
The trial is initially running until August 9.
