FILM stunt man Jacob Martin is currently on tour with his family’s equine team Les Amis d’Onno on their vintage cabaret tour, writes Kenny Paterson.

Jacob, who previously appeared in Robin Hood, will be on the big screen again next month in his role in science fiction film Cloud Atlas, which stars Tom Hanks.

Mum Sue said of the latest show from the Lanton Hill Farm entertainers: “This is Les Amis d’Onno’s fourth winter tour around the Borders and this year we will be appearing for the first time at venues such as The Tall Ship in Glasgow and The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh.

“With a mix of regular and new acts, the vintage cabaret is the offbeat, flip side of Les Amis d’Onno’s summer time performing horse shows and equestrian theatre, where stunts and feats of horsemanship thrilled audiences at various venues across Scotland.”

Among the entertainment on offer is sword fighting, jousting, trick riding, and fire breathing.

There is also knife throwing, acrobatics and an unconventional water tank escapology act.

A singing strongman, magician, French trick shot archer, Argentinian whipcracker and a performing dog complete the line-up, while music is provided by Innerleithen-based Jonathan Money and the Cats of Swing.

Remaining shows include Lilliesleaf Village Hall on Saturday, The Tall Ship in Glasgow on Friday, February 8, and Saturday, February 9 (2.30pm), Glen Douglas Village Hall on Friday, February 15, and The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh on Sunday, February 17 (6pm and 9pm). All performances start at 7.30pm, unless stated otherwise.

Tickets are priced at £11 and can be bought by phoning 07598 116347 or email lesamisdonno-tickets@btinternet.com
