THE managing director for Tweeddale Press (TDP) – owner of The Southern Reporter and Selkirk Weekend Advertiser - is to take up a new role within parent company Johnston Press.
Stuart Birkett will be the new managing director of Johnston Press’s Scottish publishing unit from Monday.
The announcement was made by Johnston Press chief executive Ashley Highfield this week as part of a senior management shake-up.
Mr Birkett said: “I am incredibly proud of the consistently ‘better than the rest’ results we’ve delivered, and feel privileged to have worked with such a great team.”
He will be replaced by Stephen Plews, currently MD of the JP North and East Yorkshire Publishing Unit, who starts on Monday.
