PLANS have been submitted to upgrade a Lauderdale caravan and camping site.
The Camping and Caravanning Club wishes to convert 14 grass caravan pitches to hardstanding, build a children’s play area and install a motorhome service point at its Carfraemill site.
The organisation, which has more than 100 locations across the UK, also wants to erect access barriers and extend an internal road.
In addition, the club is looking to increase its opening times by around three months, meaning club members could use the facility from February 16 to January 5.
Sarah Butterfield, of agents Alliance Planning, told Scottish Borders Council: “The proposal would not result in any increase in the size of the site or total number of pitches provided.
“The improved facilities would secure the long-term viability of the site, and associated continued support to the local economy.”
