There’s still plenty of music to tempt you out of your home over Christmas.

The Rolling Hills Folk Club is hosting its Christmas party at the George and Abbtosford Hotel in Melrose at 8.30pm tomorrow. The club takes its name from the Matt McGinn song The Rolling Hills of the Borders, and folk nights have been held on the first and third Fridays of every month since its foundation in 2006. For more information, visit www.rollinghillsfolkclub.org.uk

Peebles Folk Club takes the baton on Thursday, December
27, for its long-established
song and instrumental-based sessions at the town’s Neidpath Inn.

The club plays all types of music – just as long as it’s live – and organisers promise an informal, lively atmosphere, where listeners as well musicians are very welcome. For information on the free event, contact 01721 721697, or go to www.peeblesfolkclub.moonfruit.com

If your taste is more traditional, there’s an evening of choral music at Eccles Parish Church at 7pm tomorrow, composed of “the Christian year in song”, carols, and a concert by Borders choir Andante.

Contact 01890 817102.
