Selkirk-based accountancy firm Stark Main & Co was named as the Independent Firm of the Year at the British Accountancy Awards last week.
The awards were announced at a Gala dinner and Stark Main & Co, Chartered Tax Advisers & Accountants, won the award for Scotland and North England.
This put them into the shortlist for the overall British title, with four other regional winners – and the Selkirk company was successful.
The criterion is based on a firm within the geographic area with turnover of up to £3million, which demonstrates how the firm has added significant value to its clients and across all service areas.
Last year, Stark Main won the Independent Firm of the Year Award when Scotland was a category in its own right.
Additionally, Ian Main was shortlisted along with eight others for Practitioner of the Year, and was the only Accountant working in Scotland to be shortlisted.
