NHS Borders gets new associate director of nursing

NHS Borders has announced the appointment of Charlie Sinclair as its new associate director of nursing for primary, acute and community services.

Mr Sinclair, who has most recently been the associate director of nursing for NHS Fife acute services division, will be responsible for providing professional leadership to all nursing and midwifery staff.

He will have a particular focus within the clinical boards and work in partnership around health and social care integration, incorporating strategic influence, service modernisation, workforce planning and development.

The post is accountable to the director of nursing and midwifery and is accountable for leading, championing and developing the nursing and midwifery workforce.

Drawing on a wealth of experience as a senior nurse in the NHS, the Scottish Government and his most recent role, Mr Sinclair will take up his new position in September.

Commenting, Evelyn Rodger, NHS Borders director of nursing and midwifery, said: “We are delighted to successfully appoint to this post, and look forward to Charlie starting in the autumn.”
