Staff, volunteers and supporters of Peeblesshire Youth Trust welcomed the Hon. Mary Coltman to officially present the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services at their garden party in Peebles on Monday.
Mrs Coltman was representing the Lord Lieutenant of Tweeddale, Professor Sir Hew Strachan.
After the official announcement of the award on June 2, and returning from the Buckingham Palace Garden Party, Robert Harrison, chairman, and Angie Preston, co-ordinator, decided that they should bring a little of the garden party to Peebles and celebrate with the people who volunteer and work in partnership with the trust. Peebles CAN – a not-f0r-profit community-based organisation – agreed to hosting the party in its community garden. Pictured is Mrs Coltman presenting the award to Robert Harrison.
