Nine towns and villages in the Borders will be visited by the Queen’s Baton in the build-up to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The baton will be taken on a 40-day relay of Scotland beginning on June 14 and the Borders gets a visit on Day 5 – Wednesday, June 18.
Three of the four Border counties are included – but the baton won’t visit Peeblesshire.
It will be carried through Duns, Greenlaw, Earlston, Melrose, Tweedbank, Selkirk, Kelso, Jedburgh and Hawick. It will also visit Langholm as it heads for the south west.
Approximately 100 people will carry the baton each day, most of then being recognised for their contribution to sport, the community and youth,
