Galashiels passengers have been benefiting from an improved bus service after local operator FirstBorders increased the number of buses on Service 7, linking Langlee with Galashiels town centre.
Having listened to customer feedback and suggestions, FirstBorders’ local management team have acted to improve the service, increasing the number of buses on the route to every 15 minutes between 9.15am and 3.30pm (Monday to Saturday) instead of every 20 minutes.
The improved service follows confirmation from First that the trial of the £3 Galashiels day ticket will be extended to March 2.
Operations manager for FirstBorders, Lee Young, said: “This is good news for customers. We’ve closely monitored demand and passenger numbers and are confident that we can sustain running services every 15 minutes. We are working hard to improve our services and encourage more people to use the bus.”
