Border building firm Stow Construction are celebrating a double win at Bannockburn – though not on a bloody battlefield.
Managing director Graeme Steel and his patio installation team were delighted to receive two awards at the Regional Marshalls Roadshow in the Stirlingshire village next to the famous battlefield on Monday, winning The Best Use of Ethically Sourced Fairstone, and The Best Patio over 35m2.
“We are particularly proud to have won the Best Use of Ethically Sourced Fairstone,” Mr Steel said, “as both Marshalls and Stow Construction are staunch supporters of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), which ensures fair wages, safe working conditions, and no child labour.
“The Fairstone brand of sandstone and limestone from India and China assures that the stone is quarried and processed to the strict standards of the ETI. From 2014, every time we install Fairstone, a contribution to UNICEF will be made.”
Graeme has won awards for his work every year and in almost every category since Marshalls instigated the award scheme. Stow Construction will now go forward to the national finals next year with the potential to win a pick-up truck.
