Campaigners battling to save a road link in Galashiels from being lost to the railway development have organised a public meeting.
Plumtree Brae runs between Magdala Terrace on the A7 and King Street on the A72 at the northern end of the town.
But it will be lost as a road to make way for the Borders Railway which is due to open in 2015.
A Save Plumtree Brae Facebook page has attracted more than 15,000 hits.
Campaigners are holding a public meeting at the Ladhope Inn on Wednesday, December 4, at 7pm.
They hope that representatives of Network Rail, the main contractors BAM and Scottish Borders Council will attend.
One of the organisers, Sherry Fowler, of Magdala Terrace, said: The loss of this vital artery is too important to be ignored and I ask that as many members of the public that are able to attend, do so.”
