Lady members of the Woll golf course in Ashkirk, were given the star treatment when students from Borders College beauty department came to visit.
After the recent development of the clubhouse – including a new bar, restaurant and function area – the team at New Woll Estate wanted to offer something a bit different to lady members and make use of the new facilities. After the rush of Christmas and New Year and a cold few weeks golfing, an afternoon of pampering to recharge the batteries seemed like the perfect answer.
The college’s beauty therapy department was asked if it would like to be involved with the event. The newly created Hazelknowe Suite was transformed into a beauty salon for the day offering a range of complimentary treatments to all the members.
The level 2a beauty therapy students, and their lecturer Liesa Hamilton created a range of taster sessions for the ladies, including skin analysis, make-up lessons, file and polish, and foot massage.
In addition to the treatments, the ladies also enjoyed a specially created pamper day menu in the new bar, Nineteen, together with complimentary coffee, fresh orange and a relaxing area stocked with magazines where they could unwind after their treatments.
Nicholas Brown, director of New Woll Estate said: “We have such a friendly, sociable membership here at the Woll and we wanted to show them how important they are to us, so we were delighted that the girls from Borders College were able to help us. It went like a dream the beauty therapy students gained more experience and our members were spoilt for the day.”
