TUTOR Clare Watson will use drama, games and techniques to teach new skills, particularly in communication, in Borders Youth Theatre’s Engage workshops at the Eastgate Theatre, Peebles, in the new year.
A spokesperson for BYT said: “You can learn how to be creative, gain self-confidence, make new friends and perform as part of a group; but mostly, have lots of fun.
“BYT is a voluntary and registered charitable organisation, committed to providing high quality drama classes and opportunities for public performances for young people aged 8 to 25, in the Scottish Borders.”
At present, BYT runs junior and senior weekly workshops in seven towns across the Borders during school term times.
It also hosts intensive production weeks for juniors and seniors in the October half term and Easter holiday, as well as a variety of summer holiday projects.
Engage is priced at £40 for 12 weeks for 8 to 12-year-olds and 12 to 18-year-olds. Classes begin on Monday, January 9, from 3.45pm to 4.45pm for the younger age group and 4.40pm to 5.40pm for the older budding actors.
