Fairydean Rovers’ Sean Paliczka and his wife Emma will be taking part in a year of challenging events to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres.
The couple hope to take on a new challenge each month to meet their target by April 2014, when they will celebrate their 30th birthdays.
The challenges include the ‘Pedal for Scotland’ 47-mile cycling challenge, the Great Scottish Run. The couple will also be donating their time to help out at other fundraising events.
Emma Paliczka said: “We were recently invited along to meet with Mark Cooper, Community Fundraiser at Maggie’s, Edinburgh. It was great to visit the centre and we came away feeling really inspired.”
Sean who recently kick started the pair’s fundraising campaign with a 10,000ft, 130mph tandem skydive says: “We have been delighted by the support we have received so far and can’t think of a better way to celebrate this occasion. We hope to raise even more funds for Maggie’s so that they can continue to provide the vital care and support that they give to so many people across the UK.”
Sean and Emma are now looking forward to taking part in the Pedal for Scotland event on Sunday (September 8), which will see thousands of keen cyclists take on the challenge of cycling 47 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh.
