Firefighters have won a two-hour battle to bring a large gorse fire under control in the Scottish Borders.
But mid-afternoon crews from Kelso, Jedburgh and Galashiels, were still using high pressure hoses and beaters on the flames at Sandyknowe Farm near Smailholm.
The blaze was discovered at 11.45am and fire officers reported at 2.10pm that they had it contained.
The fire had spread over an area 100 metres x 50 metres but no buildings were affected.
The first crew from Kelso on the scene radioed for support and were joined by a second Kelso appliance and later by units from Jedburgh and Galashiels.
