BORDERS youngsters are gathering evidence on bullying in the region’s schools.
The aim of the Scottish Borders Youth Commission is to come up with new ways of stopping the antisocial behaviour.
The team of 12 was set up by Scottish Borders Council (SBC) to make evidenced recommendations for a new approach to policy for preventing and managing bullying behaviour.
And the youngsters aged between 14 and 22, who live, work or study in the region, have set up online surveys.
An SBC spokesperson said: “They are actively gathering evidence from a wide range of sources and are seeking the views of pupils, parents, teachers, and other professionals to help shape their recommendations.”
There are two surveys, one for school staff, including teachers, classroom assistants, school managers, youth workers and all others involved in dealing with school children, and another for parents and carers. And there is an option for others to contact the team online.
The young commissioners say the surveys are short and should take only five minutes to complete.
