Courts in Peebles and Duns will close in January 2015 under proposals from the Scottish Court Service.
The service’s report on the future of court services in Scotland was published at noon on Tuesday, following a public consultation process.
Business from Duns and Peebles will be transferred to Jedburgh and Selkirk respectively.
The final decision on the closures will rest with the Scottish Government.
