A small group of hardy tree planters did their bit at West End Farm, Redpath, when 200 native oaks and cherries were planted.
The efforts received funding help from Scottish Woodlands Ltd as part of the launch of the Diamond Jubilee Path between Earlston, Redpath and Leaderfoot.
Landowner Dick Grove said: “This small copse of native woodland is right next to the new Jubilee Path and those who have helped with the planting can watch these trees grow, adding to the existing semi-natural woodland on the slopes down to the River Leader. Everyone enjoyed the experience and despite the cold and snow, the ground was not frozen and we completed the task efficiently.”
