Having an illegal drug at Jedburgh rugby sevens cost Jamie Milner a £200 fine.
The 24-year-old, of Howdenburn Court, Jedburgh, admitted possessing Ecstasy at Riverside Park on May 19 last year.
Prosecutor Tessa Bradley said police were on mobile patrol when the accused was pointed out, and accused of having drugs in the rugby club toilets.
He was searched and a bag of powder found in his pocket, which he said was ecstasy.
“There was half a gram, which tested positive for ecstasy, and was valued at about £25,” explained Ms Bradley.
Defending, Rory Bannerman told the hearing at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Friday that his client was not a drug abuser, adding: “He took fright at this and has not taken any drugs since.”
