A FORMER patient has welcomed the significant changes to the NHS Borders stroke unit at the Borders General Hospital.
Tim Pilcher, from Kelso, toured the refurbished facility on Monday, when it was officially unveiled.
The unit has taken over the former footprint of the old stroke and palliative care ward at the BGH.
The ward has been refurbished with new lounge areas, extra single rooms, and a courtyard garden created.
Nursing staff and NHS bosses have also welcomed the creation of the dedicated unit.
