THE BORDERS is bracing itself for the most challenging weather of the winter, with all school transport cancelled for tomorrow.
An amber warning for heavy snow has been issued for tomorrow, with up to 10 centimetres expected in most areas.
Strong winds of up to 50mph are also due to hit the region.
The eastern side of the Borders is expected to receive the worst of the weather, according to a Scottish Borders Council spokesman.
He added: “The impact of the snow may be significant and could lead to travel disruption.”
The spokesman said the council will enforce its school resilient procedure tomorrow.
This includes no school transport being operated, possible school closures and teachers attending their nearest school.
