DUNS cyclists with red noses are making a foray on a tandem into the central Borders on Friday (March 15) and Saturday.

Friends Tammy Chapman, 21, and Laura Stanhope, 22, are biking 63 miles from the Berwickshire town to Hawick to raise money for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day.

The pair will cycle through Greenlaw and Kelso to St Boswells on Friday and on to Melrose and Galashiels to Hawick on Saturday and will have a bucket on their bike to collect as they go.

Tammy said: “We came up with the idea as it was challenging and no one thought we could possible achieve it. So we are out to raise as much money as possible: we’ve raised 200 pounds so far.”

Border Cycles in Hawick has donated use of the tandem to the two women for the day

Tammy said: “We have never done anything like this before. I think is a great idea to raise money for such a good cause.”
