A drug supplier caught in an undercover police operation, has had sentence deferred until March 11.

Christopher Ferguson, 25, of Halliburton Place, Galashiels, appeared from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Monday and admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin on various occasions between May 18 and 30 last year, at B&Q, Wilderhaugh, Galashiels.

“He was detected as part of the covert operation run last year in the Borders,” said depute fiscal Tessa Bradley.

“On seven occasions, he supplied heroin to undercover police officers, and met up with them at B&Q car park and other locations.

“On each occasion, two packages of heroin, worth about £20 each, were involved, so each transaction was worth £40,” concluded Ms Bradley.

Solicitor Richard Souter, defending, said his client was remanded in custody for an analogous case, with an intermediate diet set for March 11.
