BUDDING entrepreneurs are getting the chance to learn a range of new skills in a series of free start-up workshops.
The Business Gateway sessions are designed to provide anyone interested in starting a venture with the information they need to make the correct decisions and get their project up and running.
Delivered by a team of experienced business advisers, the start-up awareness sessions will cover a range of issues, including assessing the viability of a business idea, business planning, market research, legal structures and tax and VAT.
The sessions will include:
Business Start-up Marketing – January 22 (10am-1pm); Business Start-up Business Planning – January 31 (10am-1pm); Business Start-up Finance – February 5 (10am-1pm).
“The workshops are a must for anyone thinking about self-employment or starting a new business,” said Lyn Galloway, a business adviser with Business Gateway Scottish Borders.
“Our start-up events are great building blocks and will set you on your way to starting and running a successful business. By attending these workshops, you will be better informed on the process of starting your business, and given the opportunity to arrange a meeting with a business adviser to discuss any specific issues or requirements.
“Starting a new business can be a challenging prospect, particularly if you are looking to take on staff for the first time or set up a venture in premises outwith the home, so we have ensured that our workshop programme will not only help inform your choices, but answer any questions you have and provide the help and support you need to get your business off to a flying start.”
In addition to the start-up workshops, Business Gateway has launched a website (www.bgateway.com) with information to guide budding entrepreneurs through the process.
