A TEENAGER who created a disturbance at Borders General Hospital has been branded a hooligan by a sheriff and warned he could be locked up.
Jordan Cunningham, 17, was taken to the accident and emergency department on Monday night suffering an adverse reaction to valium tablets. He appeared from custody at Selkirk when Sheriff Kevin Drummond was told he’d had breached an antisocial behaviour order (ASBO).
Cunningham, of High Tweed Mill, Galashiels, admitted acting in a violent and aggressive manner, and shouting and swearing at medical staff. He had also imitated the sounds of hospital equipment.
Lawyer Iain Burke said his client had taken valium for the first time and had little recollection of the incident.
The sheriff described Cunningham as a hooligan, making a nuisance in a place where people were sick and distressed. He was freed on an 8pm-7am home curfew with the threat of custody.
