Police have identified the body found in Thornielee Woods near Clovenfords last Sunday as missing man Angus Clyde of Traquair, Innerleithen.
The 58-year-old was last seen leaving for work at 7am on Monday, November 19, and his Toyota Yaris was later found within the Thornielee Woods car park.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious, and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
This is the second tragedy to hit the village of Traquair in two months: farmer and father-of-two Eric Simpson, 41, of Newhall Farm was killed in a quad bike accident in October.
