Thieves made off with Remembrance Poppy charity collection tins in Melrose over the weekend.
The thefts took place between Friday and Sunday from licensed premises in the town.
Poppy Appeal organisers, The Royal British Legion, uses the money raised to help serving members of the armed forces, ex-service men and women and their families.
Police this week described the thefts are “callous” and asked anyone with any information to contact them.
